Ayhan Zia, MD

ayhan-zia-thumb-220x300Dr Ayhan Zia, MD graduated from medical school in Pakistan and subsequently completed his Internal Medicine Residency at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL in 2002. He engaged in basic research at the University of Arizona 2004 -2006, while also working as an internist in Tucson. Dr. Zia then went on to join a Cardiovascular Fellowship at the University of Tennessee.

Afterwards, he returned to the University of Arizona to complete an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, followed by five years of hospital-based general and interventional cardiology practice at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Arkansas.

His desire to excel in non-coronary vascular interventions brings him to a one year fellowship at First Coast Cardiovascular Institute.

Dr. Zia is board certified in both general and interventional cardiology. With extensive experience in coronary stenting at a high volume center prior to joining his current practice, he has an interest in complex coronary procedures including opening chronic total occlusions. He continues to maintain an interest in non-invasive cardiology, especially echocardiography.

Dr. Zia has a passion for outdoor activities, and is an avid hiker and bicyclist.
