Medical Assistant for Quality Department Opening!

Summary: The Medical Assistant, as part of our Quality and Performance Improvement team, is responsible for auditing charts for quality measures documentation, patient compliance, assisting clinicians with MACRA, HEDIS gaps, data sharing and improving overall quality of care.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Reviewing the medical records to ensure appropriate documentation.
  • Performing patients chart review utilizing MACRA and HEDIS technical specifications to optimize quality performance scores.
  • Performing complete and accurate data entry of qualifying services and results into data registries and database software.
  • Identifying and communicating patterns of missing documentation for the assessment of records.
  • Supports all Quality and Performance Improvement related projects and prepares audit result reports.
  • Prepares and implements training to medical assistants and office staff to review, monitor, and track gap listings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Performance Improvement.

Education/Experience: 

  • Must have an active medical assistant certification.
  • High School diploma or Associates degree in a health-related field preferred.
  • Must have prior working experience in a physician office setting primary care preferred.
  • Prior experience working with data, reports.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of medical terminology
  • Extensive proficiency with online databases, Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of EHRs, eClinicalWorks experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be able to work with minimal supervision, and demonstrated team oriented approach.
  • Must be professional, have a good work ethic, be a conscientious problem solver, and be results-oriented.
  • Must be adaptable, detail oriented, willing to learn, and take personal pride in their work.

Catheterization Laboratory Nurse Opening!

Summary: Assist physicians in the tasks and responsibilities necessary in the performance of cardiac catheterization and peripheral angiography. Independently provide patient care pre and post procedure with minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Assist in maintaining and operating cath lab and recovery equipment.
  • Utilizing sterile technique assist in set up and maintains the appropriate instrument and supply table for various procedures performed in the cath lab.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medications and supplies for cath lab operations, reorder as necessary.
  • Transport patients from preparation area to cath lab.
  • Prepare the patient for and monitor patient during and after cath lab procedures.
  • Assist the physicians in cath lab procedures as requested.
  • Maintain and operate blood saturation equipment.
  • Administer appropriate medication and dosage per physician order in pre-procedure, during a cath lab procedure, and in recovery
  • Safely transport patients to recovery and monitor patients during transport.
  • Maintain a clean environment in the cath lab and recovery areas.
  • Maintain secure inventory of controlled substances and keep accurate records of all controlled substances.
  • Meet continuing education requirements in order to maintain license as required by State law.
  • Check code chart daily for all supplies, drugs, and check defibrillator for charge.
  • Perform appropriate quality control daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Assist physicians in preparing cath lab reports and enter data as required.
  • Proper disposal of biohazard and radioactive waste as regulated by OSHA and the Florida State Office of Radiation Control.

Education/Experience: An Associate’s Degree in nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A current Florida RN license and at least five years of cardiac care experience with three years of past cath recovery experience. Experience as a Cath Tech is a plus.

Recover Room Nurse Opening! 

Summary: The Recovery Room Nurse is responsible for providing skilled nursing care during the pre and post catheterization period. This includes proper patient evaluation and preparation and monitoring patients post procedure.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provides pre-cath care for patients (i.e., starts IV’s, preps area for cath, reviews procedure with patient).
  • Administers medication intravenously, orally, and intramuscularly as directed by physician.
  • Monitors patient’s vital signs as per pre and post cath orders and records data in a specified manner.
  • Evaluates patient condition at all times and notifies physician of any problems.
  • Performs CPR, defibrillates patient and operates temporary pacemakers and IABP when necessary.
  • Provides any necessary assistance to patient or physician in emergency situations.
  • Assists Technical staff as necessary.
  • Discharges patient from facility with help from Technician staff.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of all patient data.
  • Maintains Recovery Room area in accordance with established guidelines.

Credentialing Specialist Opening!

Summary: A busy multi-specialty group in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to join an established practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for the medical staff credentialing and reappointment process for insurance companies and hospitals. They will also function as the physician relations representative in both a hospital and clinic setting.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Oversee the credentialing/privileging process for all medical staff at First Coast Cardiovascular Institute and Jacksonville Clinic
  • Ensure all providers meet annual CME requirements
  • Develop and implement process for provider recruiting, onboarding, orientation and training
  • Maintain professional evaluations for all providers quality data
  • Maintain provider database through registries such as CAQH, Medkinetics, and NPPES
  • Oversee medical malpractice insurance program for the practice
  • Coordinate preceptorships for mid-levels
  • Manage reimbursement agreements for physicians

Medical Records Team Lead Opening!

Summary: Responsible for the accurate maintenance of medical records, patient charts, and reports by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:

  1. Prepares daily charts for doctors and testing procedures.
  1. Scans and indexes all medical records, patient charts, and reports as appropriate.
  1. Retrieves patient charts in accordance with daily schedule and delivers to appropriate physicians.

Front Desk Specialist Opening!

Summary: Responsible for greeting patients, verifying their demographic and insurance information, collecting payments, and posting charges by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities Include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  1. Greets patients.
  2. Verifies insurance and scans insurance cards with a photo identification.
  3.  Verifies patient demographic information.
  4. Answers the phone in a pleasant manner.
  5. Schedules appointments.
  6. Verifies patient appointments for the next day.
  7. Makes copies, faxes documents, and shreds documents within company protocols.
  8. Takes accurate messages and conveys them to the doctor/medical assistance.
  9. Opens the building at the designated time each day, ensures the readiness of the reception area, and ensures that the front desk activities are fully operational at the start of the business day.
  10. Participates in staff and educational meetings.
  11. Advises supervisor of items that need to be ordered for the front desk.
  12. Manages incoming hospital consults/calls back paged to the doctors.
  13. Collects and posts charges and payments according to protocols, prepares and balances daily financial registers, and submits all forms to their supervisor.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet software, and eClinical Works.

Position Requirements:

  • A high school diploma and Associates Degree in a clinic or scientific field is preferred
  • Clinical registration or licensure as one of: RCVT, RN, LPN, CCPT, RRT or RTR

Certified Medical Assistant Opening!

Job Purpose: Helps patients by providing clinical and business office assistance in the offices and clinics of health care providers.

*Cardiology experience and/or Internal Medicine/Family Practice experience preferred
Looking for a Certified Medical Assistant for our Jacksonville locations.**
Bilingual speaking candidate preferred but not required.

Duties:

  • Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
  • Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
  • Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; preparing patients for x-rays; taking electrocardiograms.
